My family has been in Osceola County since 1969. This is our home. After graduating from College, I came home to be with my family and start one of my own. I have seen a lot of changes over the past years and with the growth we experience, it seems change is inevitable. But I believe that we can get involved in our community and be active in making our community a place where we want to live, work and to raise a family. To do so we have to be engaged and be prepared to help make tough decisions.
As the Chairman of the County’s Planning and Zoning Committee I have voted for and have been an active voice for “smart growth”. For making growth pay for itself and for planning for tomorrow. We cannot let growth happen randomly then try to catch up with roads, schools, water retention, parks, storm water runoff, and proper zoning. We must plan today for tomorrow.
That’s where I differ from other candidates. I bring my experience in planning for our future, something I believe is critical to keeping and maintaining our quality of life we enjoy to this campaign for county commission. We need a commissioner who understands our community, who understands our future and is willing to stand up for and fight for what District 5 needs not just now, but tomorrow as well.
